Mini FAQ – Insurance & Approval

1. Is drone insurance mandatory to fly legally in Thailand?

Yes. Liability insurance is mandatory for CAAT pilot licensing, UAV registration, and flight permission in Thailand.

2. What coverage does the insurance plan include?

All our drone insurance plans provide THB 1,000,000 third-party liability coverage, valid for 12 consecutive months, and fully compliant with CAAT requirements.

3. Can I buy insurance for less than 1 year (e.g. 1–3 months)?

No. CAAT only accepts annual (12-month) liability insurance policies. Short-term, monthly, or temporary insurance is not legally accepted.

4. Why is annual insurance required even if I fly for a short period?

This is a CAAT regulatory requirement, not an insurance company policy. All registered drones must maintain continuous 12-month liability coverage, regardless of usage duration.

5. Can I cancel the policy early and receive a refund?

No. All drone insurance policies are non-refundable, either partially or fully, once issued.

6. Why are refunds not available?

Once issued, the insurance policy is immediately used for CAAT registration and compliance. The policy remains valid for the full 12-month period, even if the drone is flown for a shorter time.

7. How long does it take to receive the insurance policy?

Typically 1–2 business days after we receive complete and correct applicant information.

Still unsure which option applies to your drone?

Important Notes

• Policies are annual — short-term policies are not accepted by CAAT.

• Coverage is third-party liability and valid throughout Thailand.

• e-Policy is issued in PDF and accepted for CAAT/NBTC processes.

• Claims assistance is available with local support.

• Re-issue / correction support available for major mistakes only.

Document Reminder:

As most tourists stay in Thailand for a short period, please ensure all submitted documents are clear and correctly prepared for government use. Blurry, cropped, or obscured files cannot be accepted and may delay CAAT approval.

Warning:

Flying without valid insurance may result in penalties and denial of CAAT/NBTC approvals.

Tip:

Arrange insurance with TH DIS before you travel to speed up approval once you arrive in Thailand.
