Under NBTC Regulation Act No. 23, every drone controller must be registered to remain valid as personal property.

Owning, using, or keeping an unregistered controller for more than 30 days may result in fines up to 100,000 THB or imprisonment of up to 5 years.

Before flying, ensure your controller operates within NBTC frequency limits:

  • 433 MHz ≤ 10 mW EIRP

  • 2.4 GHz ≤ 100 mW EIRP

  • 5.8 GHz ≤ 1,000 mW (1 W) EIRP

Important Legal Notes

  • Visitors: Must register with NBTC within 30 days of entry.

  • Immigration Link: Approval is valid only during your stay in Thailand and expires when you leave.

  • Foreigners: Certification is temporary; permanent certification is reserved for Thai nationals.

  • Legal Compliance: Flying without NBTC approval risks fines and confiscation.

Penalty (Thai Law)

Operating a drone controller without NBTC approval or using unauthorized radio frequencies is illegal under Thai law.
Violations may result in:

  • Fines up to 100,000 THB

  • Imprisonment of up to 5 years

  • CAAT Link: NBTC registration is one part of full compliance (Insurance + CAAT + NBTC).

  • Avoid fines – ensure your NBTC approval is always active
